“Never old” is an experimental audiovisual project and documentary initiated in the month of January 2018. A group of young artists of different disciplines have delved into the institutional ecosystem that is San Martín Home, a public rest home for women and men over the age of sixty, located in La Paternal, City of Buenos Aires.
The San Martín Home and its community are the protagonists and primary beneficiaries of this project. We intend to produce material that is the result of joining a group of young creatives with a group of residents with the aim of cinematographic and theatrical experimentation exploring the residents’ own life story and experiences related to the retirement home.
What is the place of the elderly in our society? What to expect of them? What should they expect from us? What does it mean to age here and today? What policies address the development and care of elderly argentine citizens? What is to result of the encounter with the 20 young creatives that have come to present an artistic refuge from which to view their past and present?
